Off to Scotland

The Sco-ish Experience days are approaching surprisingly fast. I really look forward to that trip.

Journey Information: My plane leaves Vienna International Airport at 0740, so I have to take a shuttle bus from Westbahnhof Wien (departs about 0530). Once I catch my connecting flight in London Heathrow (I am so going to be in the mood “yay, I am going to San Francisco, dude, oh wait, no, I’ll see Julia - uhh”), the plane (British Airways, what else?*) will drop me off in Edinburgh Airport. An air link shuffle (it goes every 15 min.) takes me to the Edinburgh City center (Waverley Station). From there, I’ll take the train to Leuchars and then a bus to St. Andrews where I will meet Julia. She’s going to pick me up there.

So assuming that I catch all my planes, trains and buses, I will reside in Julia’s condo dorm room for five days. A personal king size bed sleeping bag has already taken half the room of my luggage. Anyways, we’ll basically check out Scotland (some castles, Edinburgh, St. Andrews,…) and just hang. One movie night serves an important enlightening purpose; our mission command therefore is: Introduce the Brit-kids to Ferris Bueller.

Too bad I couldn’t work on my British accent. Gosh darn it. Now I have to improvise bearing the “It’s Just The Way It Is” entry (summer 07) in mind.

This entry can also be considered as Julia’s Happy Birthday entry since I won’t be able to prepare a birthday entry during that trip. So happy clappy birthday for you, Julia.

Let’s see if I can impress the Scots with my freshly inflamed pink eye. No wait, I actually have two.

Last but not least, my Christmas festiveness is steadily increasing (from Gringe-level to Santa-Claus-himself-mode). That snowboarding trip last Sunday was SO worth it and contributed to my holiday spirit/ mood. Besides, Julia’s USB powered fiber optic Christmas tree, geeky as it is, will make me even more festive.
