Getting Into This Ikea Mood

Part 5 of The Ultimate Guide To College

Looking for design and decoration ideas has never been easier. Thanks the internet. Plus, don’t you think when you are about to (re)paint your room or when you have to think of how to make a new home cosy and warm, you don’t have to go far to find inspiration. The design, the color scheme rather comes to you. Pops up in front of you and you just go “Oh, I want it and I want it badly”. You actually have an idea of what colors, what furniture and bits and peaces (like a full HD 45 inch flat screen), and you are already well aware of how you’d love to assemble things in your new space. Do it, jump.

This green just jumped at me. It would also go along well with my "That Green" of my blog · by Josh Leo (Our First House)

Yesterday this special “Decorational Ahaa Moment” happened to me. I was looking through a set of pictures of Josh Leo’s home I immediately fell in love with (It makes you want to be an American suburban home and move in). He and his wife have just moved into this charming home and his redesigned office just looks like something I would feel comfortable in.

Not knowing where I am going to live next fall, I already know how I want my room. It has to be this green (at least one wall of the 4 surrounding me) spiked with Blik’s Surface graphics (Eames Circles small). It has to have a reading chair with perfect lightning and there better be a King-sized bed in it (okay, I’ll also take that one my grandfather has built already). My desk should fit my 20 inch Cinema Display and my Macbook.

I don’t want a TV in my room. I think that television used to be way more fun, but just to be prepared for another season of Desperate Housewives I’ll be okay with a TV in the living room (if I get to enjoy the fancy-shmancy luxus of a living room)…

I guess I’d be set that way. What else is missing for a perfect home, lieber Reader?

Looks like I really am moving out. Ikea, a place I can’t wait to visit that is. I’m in Ikea-mood.

I am glad that I could be an inspiration. Ikea is a great place to find cheap stylish furniture!

You and your site are wealth of inspiration. Having just moved to a new place that I’m trying to get comfortable in, I have to start painting the walls and get some nice decor and furniture to match.

I’m not sure where to get started with regards to wall color. I want something chic, but not something that’s the flavor of the month.
But I really love the site with pre-cut designs - something I’m definitely going to explore while deciding what to do with the place.
