So You Love Movies…?

Can you tell the name of the movie by only seeing one letter of the official poster? I would love to see all the people who claim to be “into movies” take this test and watch them fail or - rather unlikely - succeed. Answers after the jump.

Take the test.

The Answers

I figured that people might also enjoy the answers to the quiz. Orginally found here.

Let’s see my results and analyze them. Recognizing a movie by only one letter is the goal of creating a brand around a movie and its merchandizing. Have a look at how successfully they managed that in my case…

Movies high-lighted GREEN were identified because I actually saw them and remembered their poster, movies high-lighted BLUE were recognized because of good marketing and poster design, however I never saw the movie in theater or DVD. RED highlight means that I saw the movie, but didn’t recognize it. VIOLET are the ones I didn’t see, never heard of and never cared about until that very moment.

I managed to get twelve on one run-through.

I take that back, I got 14 (stupid spelling errors, like Dalmatians). I probably would have gotten at least a few more if I had spent more time… It’s cool, though :-D
You can try these two quizzes… If i remember right, I got 21 and 15 respectively. http://connect.afi.com/site/PageServer?pagename=10TOP10Quiz

I added my results and an analyzation… Thinking about it this way is really interesting!

Nice quiz you suggested, let me take it when I had several hours of shut-eye though, makes my results a little better, probably… Reaction time, baby!

I’m shocked by some of the ones you marked violet…especially something like Gone with the Wind, which is a classic, or something like Sin City, which is just awesome. Some others are excellent too, like Speed Racer and Chinatown. Tsk, tsk. Learn about them.

I know, I am not that much of a Movie-Guy. For a long time in my teenage years I didn’t like scary movies, and didn’t care about classics,… I have to do some catching up. I am well aware of that! This was also my thought when I marked them violet…

Nice job.. I got 8 on the first try. For some of them, I knew I had seen the movie, but I just couldn’t come up with the name..

Nice puzzle.. but I wasted my whole lunch at work trying to solve it.. haha. That’s alright, it was entertaining.

Yeah, these internet quizzes are the best examples of 15 minutes you’ll never get back. Unless you actually learn something and get to play at a quiz show like Who Wants To Be Millionaire and you’ll win, say, a million!
