The Perosn Who Doesn’t Make Mistakes is Unlikely to Make Anything.
Jon Shaft, one of my latest flickr favorite discoveries, writes as a citation for his “Happy Mistake”:
vespa mistake. this is what photographers call a “happy mistake”: I set up the xpan with the self timer set, and ran to sit next to erica, but forgot to change the timer from 2 seconds to 10 seconds. happy mistake.
The freedom to make decisions in life is something essential. It might be even so basic so that people don’t realize the real value of this human liberty unless the freedom of deciding themselves, voting for instance, is taken away from then. Please, go vote, even if you have the feeling that nothing is happening anyway (see Austria and the reelections in fall 2008).
Your voice matters, so does your vote. Thus you do, too.
It’s been a year since I took off by plane to the Golden State. It’s been a year and I just can’t believe. A lot of things happened since then and this fact really proves that time flies. Working at Dynea, passing my community service and all the experiences that come along with it. At this time of the year I just wish I could board a plane that takes me somewhere else. The thought that I am trapped ALL summer is slightly stressing me out. Just slightly. Sarcasm End.
Not that I am sick of my life here in Austria, it is just that I am anticipating something that isn’t going to happen. Do you know that feeling. This year, no huge trip for poor Philipp. No vacation. Well, I’ll host an American friend for a week, so that should be fun, right? Touring Austria!
Thank you to my host family and all the new friends I made in California. I just wanted to thank you. Even after a year I keep thinking of you and I hope to be back soon. Promised. A YEAR, crazy!
Images like these of typical symbols like Las Vegas, San Francisco (Golden Gate, Transamerica Pyramid, etc.) and travel stuff keep following me. It looks like I can’t let go. No, I just can’t let go.
Here the lines of a song that people who fell in love with The City would sign without further ado to proof the finesse of San Francisco… I Left my Heart In San Francisco by Tony Bennett.
I left my heart in San Francisco, high on a hill it calls to me
To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars.
The morning fog may chill the air, I don’t care.
My love waits there in San Francisco, above the blue and windy sea, When I come home to you, San Francisco, your golden sun will shine for me.
Good to know that the golden sun will shine for anybody who goes to San Francisco.
As much as we enjoy our convenient, “advanced” technologies nowadays, we shouldn’t just continue without thinking of consequences. The consequences can be huge and affect our lives. Taking a step backwards in development like giving up driving cars and other “conveniences” carrying a fully packed carbon emissions heavy rucksack will be a pain for us, who know what life looked like without coping with the hugeconsequencesthat will take action in years from now.
Isn’t it everyone’s goal in life to find THE counterpart to yourself and to be able to say the following words and - now that’s the thing - totally mean it… I will sell my soul for something pure and true, someone like you.
In the unlikely event you feel the sudden urge to relieve your bladder’s pressure, make sure nobody catches you and most importantly can track you down to exact spot you committed the crime. For your information (FYI) only. The background story for the attached picture, after the jump.
Tower by Luis Montemayor - Overlooking San Francisco this is one of my favorite places in Fog City. I actually just wanted to show off my new Wallpaper for my Macbook. Astonishing capture.
Browsing thru Thomas Hawk’s profile on zooomr.com I couldn’t help but post this awesome picture. If that doesn’t live up to your expectations of a prefect wallpaper, then go check out his archive. I adore his work. I’m sure there’s one shot you’ll fall in love immediately… — Sunset Over San Francisco.
A sunset tends to announce an end and the fact that it’s time for something new. I am practically done working at Dynea Austria. I enjoyed working there, thanks for all the kindness and have a great new year! I will rest up charging my batteries, so that I am ready for the next challenge: Community Service (Zivi) at the Red Cross Krems. Starting on January 2nd.
