Light Your Home The “Cool” Way

CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) bulbs explained in plain English. Go ahead, it saves money (CFLs have higher “life expectancy”) and the environment (use less CO2 heavy energy), what more could you possibly ask for (warm ice on a stick, maybe)?

A sexy CFL Bulb

The only thing that is really weird about this video is the number of “now that’s cool” and “this is cool” remarks done by the presenter. I love the XYZ in Plain English series. And these Flickr image results for CFL….

One final thought: Are you watching movies on VRC? Well it should be “cool” with me, if you have all your regular light bulbs dimmed or even better switched off.

Convenient Now, Not So Then

As much as we enjoy our convenient, “advanced” technologies nowadays, we shouldn’t just continue without thinking of consequences. The consequences can be huge and affect our lives. Taking a step backwards in development like giving up driving cars and other “conveniences” carrying a fully packed carbon emissions heavy rucksack will be a pain for us, who know what life looked like without coping with the huge consequences that will take action in years from now.

Drive one day less and look how much carbon monoxide you\'ll keep out of the air we breathe

It’s oh so Green

Can’t wait to come home from work and get flashed by sunlight and fresh air · photo by outro jazz

Get out of that chair! Move! Run! Walk! Jump! Just do it. Leave the computer behind as long as the daylight’s out there!

Resistance Is Futile

Facing an climate change show down people would love to think that there is something they could do to reduce the strength of the impact. According to James Lovelock, climate change expert, there is little to nothing we can do about an upcoming “Armageddon”. What a unnerving notion this is! What really made me uncomfortable when reading the Guardian weekly in my Sunday morning tradition is that Lovelock already accurately predicted what life would be like in 2000 in the 1960s. Get Green-Active, Creative And Fight

Here’s the motto for the upcoming winter: Get Creative And Fight Global Warming. Why? I attached a video of satellite (Thanks Sputnik) images showing the melting of the arctic ice. At the end of the post you will see a pretty original idea on how to recycle.

No more ATOM-ROFLs on PHIL’s Blogging. “Dude, it’s so not green!”

In today’s entry we will discuss “green”-ness since the committee of the Nobel prize puts an emphasis on it by giving the Nobel peace prize to Al Gore (An Inconvenient Truth). You know, it’s now a big deal for me too, because genius minds think alike (maybe not simultaneously). Just kidding. You may smile, roll over the floor laughing, not too hard though. And most importantly no atom-rofls since this entry is supposed to be green. Nuclear powered laughers are not considered as green. Right? No CO2 sucking plant was slaughtered for my posting. Guinea Pig Barbecue

Look out of my windowSpring is slowly coming back after Mr. Winter stroke Austria once again (picture on the right: Look out of my window). I thought Austria would never expierence any kind of winter again, so says the ORF Themenschwerpunkt Klimawandel [focus on global warming; done by the Austrian National TV Station]. Sign an important Climate Change Petition.
My actual point is, that it’s getting warmer and so people are more likely to fire up their grill and have wonderful BBQ parties. Can you smell it too?
Weird people do it with guinea pigs.

RUF - Dual Mode Transport
