Spread Firefox and Set World Record

Whenever someone sets an initiative to kick Internet Explorers butt, I’m more than happy to help out - that obviously is the reason for this entry. Download Day 2008 has a mission in mind, namely setting a Guiness World Record in the most downloaded software in 24 hours. Given that there is no such entry, Firefox will get one anyway, but, as I said in the beginning, let’s kick Internet Explorer’s butt. Firefox 3 has a promising set of features (in terms of security, user interface and stability)and will most likely be my #1 choice on Windows PCs.

Sign up and pledge to download on Download Day. You submit your email address and you get a notification that reminds you to download on the day Firefox is released. The date is yet unkown for now.

UPDATE — June 17, 2008. Release of Firefox 3 and therefore the date for Download Day. Their official statement:

The official date for the launch of Firefox 3 is June 17, 2008. Join our community and this effort by pledging today.
