Boxed Up Your Life, What Now?

Having Started my studies of International Business Administration on Wednesday was next big thing coming up for me in the last week. Therefore, I needed to move. Get out of the countryside and dive into the urban flair of Vienna was the ultimate devise for me the last couple of days. Luckily I was spared with the whole odysee-like search for the perfect apartment and got to move in a family apartment in the 7th district of Vienna: Neubau. Sweet home, Neubau…

Been there, done that. Here is what Dan Barham adds to his picture: "We spent $200 on cardboard boxes for our impending move. Of course, I did what any self-respecting person would do and built an awesome fort."

Aushtrian Summer 2008

Subtitle: Yet another American to show around. My friend Katy from CA visited me for 7 days to discover the mountains and cities of Austria. I took off from work and toured all (nearly, cough, cough) of Aushtria (The valley talk way of pronouncing Austria). Innsbruck, Salzburg, Krems, Dürnstein (even that little town) and Vienna were on oh-so-strict and oh-so-well-outplanned schedule. So yeah, pay a visit to the gallery of Aushtrian Summer 2008… Ask Katy, there was no time for sympathy for numerous blisters.

Soon I will publish a nice tour guide for Vienna. Planning on visiting for a weekend, you should read this including dining tips and specials you shouldn’t miss…

Finally, the devise for Philipp is BACK TO WORK (for 22 more days)…

When Will You Realize, Vienna Waits For You?

Part 6 of The Ultimate Guide To College

Just about now, actually. Signing up for university courses is on my agenda with high priority, I’ll just wait for the summer to go on vacation for a day or so because I don’t want to miss any of the good weather Austria is being blessed and treated with at the moment.

When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?

Lieber Reader, when will you realize that Vienna is waiting for you? Maybe I can induce this desire with my upcoming Vienna tour guide. Planning on spending a weekend in Vienna? Well, I happen to have a good tour guide competence and experience.

Getting Into This Ikea Mood

Part 5 of The Ultimate Guide To College

Looking for design and decoration ideas has never been easier. Thanks the internet. Plus, don’t you think when you are about to (re)paint your room or when you have to think of how to make a new home cosy and warm, you don’t have to go far to find inspiration. The design, the color scheme rather comes to you. Pops up in front of you and you just go “Oh, I want it and I want it badly”. You actually have an idea of what colors, what furniture and bits and peaces (like a full HD 45 inch flat screen), and you are already well aware of how you’d love to assemble things in your new space. Do it, jump.

This green just jumped at me. It would also go along well with my "That Green" of my blog · by Josh Leo (Our First House)

Mini Orientation And My Branch

Part 4 of The Ultimate Guide To College

What about IBA students, huh?

I wonder where Business Administration students are depicted in this comic (outer right, I guesstimate), because as it is now, it is the branch (International Business Administration) I’ll pick most likely - 70% and gaining… After the jump, you’ll find out how my mini orientation went!

Euro 08 Enforcing National Pride

In opposition of my actual decision to declare my blog as a Euro 08 free zone I will now elaborate on the attempt of enforcing national pride in all of Austria. Being the co-host (next to Switzerland) we are automatically qualified and allowed to participate in the run for the title Europameister. But that, my dear Austrian fellows, is it. We didn’t make it into the upper end of the soccer pyramid, and that is a euphemism for “Austria, your soccer team just sucks!” - Do the jump, I have something really good in store. Continue reading

Questions on Housing

Part 3 of The Ultimate Guide To College

Dorm, Villa or Apartment - What’s it gonna be for you, Master Philipp?

One point I hardly mentioned in the series I’m On My Way is where I’m going to stay once university doors close late at night until I rush into the first lectures scheduled for 6 am. U-Bahn (underground) stations are no option here.

This question is actually quite crucial and quintessential for me since this is going to be the one of the biggest changes of all. University, a pool of students ready to roll off several parties and catch some obligatory lectures whose absent would set up your parents and get you kicked out, itself should be exciting, at least during the first couple of days, but living on my own, oh this must be like holiday, except prolonged for the whole year. Haha. Like with any other great power comes great responsibility, Philipp… Continue reading

What A Fett Surprise That Was

Fettes Brot Live in the Vienna U4 Club

Surprise, Surprise. FM4 hosted just another FM4 Überraschungskonzert (surprise concert) in Vienna’s U4 discotheque. Fettes Brot was on the agenda for yesterday’s show and, man, that quite a majestic show. They have just finished their Strom und Drang tour and played in Linz on Wednesday (14 May), however, FM4 got them to play in Vienna to give an encore. FM4 raffled away tickets and among the winners - guess who won something valuable for his first time in his life? - was Philipp. I took Miki and Jassy (who was not on the guest list unlike Miki and me) got in anyway with using her certain “willingness” to do anything to see Fettes Brot live. Kidding. Continue reading
